While the other wall shelf sizes impress, this one not so much.

Paint was uneven and could use some machining or smoothing out of the fillets. Cosmetic flaws may be ok if obscured and not showing off to your neighbors. But still, unboxing and seeing these flaws dampens the mood a bit. (The other scratches I‚'ll blame on shipping and will not comment on packaging/protection.)

Unlike the other shelves, this one has one lag screw installed above the shelf (in addition to the 2 below the shelf). What this resulted in (for me and my questionable handiness) is a screw head that stuck out too far to allow the shelf to fall into place. It‚'s close enough that one might be able to force it into place. Not all mine were like that so I had to either slide it onto one side to seat first or put the lag screw in after installing the shelf.

My guess is that it has to do with the cut out for the middle support wire making it harder for the shelf to seat into the grooves and caused by manufacturing tolerances or warping of the wire shelf due to internal stresses. A solution is to make that center channel a bit wider in the bracket (or tapered) to account for some warpage or this user‚'s inability.

Or maybe nothing needs to be done as mine are installed and functional and took an extra 30 minutes (maybe) to figure out what I had to do outside the instructions to finish the job.

While I could take credit for messing up the installation, I won't for the paint coverage and smears.
